Voicing

Having your piano properly voiced ensures a consistent tone across all registers of the piano and enables a greater dynamic range and capacity for expressiveness, allowing for more nuanced performances.

Voicing is the art of adjusting the density and texture of piano hammers to modify the instrument’s tonal quality. It can be adjusted by various processes to achieve the desired sound, from bright and clear to warm and mellow.

There is no recommended frequency for a voicing job as this aspect of the piano maintenance is highly subjective to the owner’s taste in how they like their piano’s sound but piano hammers tend to sound brighter and harsher over years of use and can easily be voiced back to a more balanced tone upon request.
